What is the Solidays festival and what is it for ?

The first edition of the Solidays festival took place at Longchamp in 1999. In spite of meteorological conditions, more than 50,000 festival-goers respond to the call from « Solidarité Sida » to do noise against AIDS. Solidays has counted three days of festival since 2003, that will be beneficial for the the festival which will be full this year for the first time. Many years later, for the fifteenth edition, Solidays welcomed 2 millions of festival-goes, which was a record. In 2014, Solidays received the President’s exceptional visit and welcomed Bill Gates. Solidays has become the appointment of every generation who comes from everywhere to celebrate the solidarity against AIDS in music.

« Solidarité Sida » makes the choice to federate and mobilize good energy around festive and solidary big events. Motivated youth, artists who are involved, form together an exceptional chain of support with main ideas such as mutual aid, tolerance, pleasure and sharing. Sensitizing youngsters, introducing innovatice approaches to prevention among a young public and sometimes uninformed public about sexual risks, talking with them without taboos and secrets, are the ambitions that Solidays wants to achieve. More than just entertainment, this meeting is also a debate, dialogue and involvement.
