Some additional context

7 December 1941: The USA wages war on Germany, after the attack of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese

8 December 1941: Walt Disney studios are requisitioned by the government to stock anti-aircraft equipments.

The Disney studios also participated in the war effort by producing propaganda films which aimed at conveying different messages to Americans (for instance, the need to help co-finance the war by buying war bonds, to save fuel for tanks and military vehicles, or tips on how to win a war against the enemy)

Der Fuehrer's Face

Director: Jack Kinney

Song writer: Oliver Wallace

Release date: 1 January 1943 (America)

Other interesting fact: The film was supposed to be called "Donald in Nutziland" (play on words - the nazi regime makes you "nuts"/crazy). However, the song "Der Fuehrer's Face" was such a success even before the film was released that they decided to change the title for "Der Fuehrer's Face".

It also received the Oscar Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 1943.
